Learning: Wikipedia defined Learning is the act of acquiring new, or modifying and reinforcing, existing knowledge, behavior, skills, values or preferences and may involve synthesizing different types of information. The ability to learn is possessed by humans, animals and some machines. Human learning involves the activities and processes of gaining knowledge or skill by studying, practicing, being taught, or experiencing something. Therefore, learning can be viewed as a process where a human absorbs information, memorizes and processes it for further use. In most cases, knowledge, skills and habits are transferred from one person to another through teaching, studying, training or research on information that is kept in books, periodicals, audio and audio-video CD-ROMs and so on. Most times, people are assessed to measure their competency level through examinations, test and quizzes. Certificates may be awarded.
E-learning: E-Learning (referred to as “Electronic –Learning”) can be described as the use of technology to enable people to teach and learn or as educational technology that supports teaching and learning. Therefore, E-learning includes numerous types of media that deliver text, audio, images, and video. These media include audio and/or video tapes and CD -ROM, radio, television and Information Communication and Technology (ICT). If it is delivered through ICT, it refers to the computing applications and processes that aids teaching and learning such as software, hardware, networks (both intranet, LAN, WAN and Internet).
